The Escort Passport 8500 X50 operates across X-band, K-band, Ka-band, and laser (LiDAR) frequencies using multiple sensors. Display modes include a 280-LED matrix-text, bar graph, SpecDisplay, and ExpertMeter.
The ExpertMeter displays band frequency and signal strength for up to eight radar signals simultaneously, with LEDs representing each signal. SpecDisplay shows the numerical frequency of the detected signal. Audible alerts increase in volume based on signal strength.
Sensitivity controls include Highway, City (highly-filtered), and AutoSensitivity modes. AutoSensitivity utilizes advanced circuitry to distinguish real signals from background noise, like garage door openers, minimizing false alarms.
A reprogrammable microprocessor offers future-proofing against evolving law enforcement technology. Users can select individual signal bands, meter displays, mute options (Mute and AutoMute), and audio tone levels.
