Prospecting is the engine that drives network marketing. Imagine a bottle with small leaks; your goal is to keep it full. Some water will inevitably escape, so you must pour water in faster than it leaks out. Your network marketing team resembles this leaky bottle. Members may leave, so consistent recruitment is vital to counteract attrition.
After three years in network marketing, I’ve refined a straightforward 3-step system that generates a steady stream of qualified prospects:
1. Regularly Attend Networking Events
2. Create a Daily Prospect List
3. Contact Prospects on Your Daily List
Step 1: Prioritize Networking
This strategy emphasizes the “networking” aspect of network marketing. Networking is essential to cultivate, so commit to regular attendance at industry and related business events.
The primary reason for attending networking events is to continually expand your prospect list beyond your immediate circle. Collect business cards and contact information.
After each event, add the new contacts to your master prospect list, which you likely created when first joining your network marketing company.
Step 2: Daily Prospect List Creation
Create a targeted list from your master prospect list each day.
Each morning, identify ten prospects to contact. Record these names in a notebook or digital list for easy access throughout the day.
Step 3: Consistent Prospect Contact
Throughout the day, reach out to as many prospects on your list as possible via phone, email, or messaging.
Tailor your approach to your existing relationship with each prospect. Focus on warming up the relationship before scheduling an appointment or making a sales pitch. Nurture the conversation before introducing your business.
Consistent application of this 3-step system will create a reliable stream of prospects for your network marketing business.
