Lincoln, the luxury brand of Ford Motor Company, and NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson are partnering to challenge aspiring filmmakers. The “Define Lincoln Luxury” contest offers a grand prize of a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr and $10,000. This initiative is part of Lincoln’s seventh consecutive year presenting the American Black Film Festival (ABFF). This annual festival provides a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work, network, and celebrate creativity through premieres, panel discussions, workshops, and competitive film showcases.
Tom Grill, Lincoln’s brand manager, emphasizes the company’s pride in supporting the independent filmmaking community through its long-standing relationship with ABFF, providing a platform for diverse voices. Lincoln and Magic Johnson have collaborated since 2003 on various events, including television commercials, charity initiatives, and sports appearances. Their most recent collaboration involved the debut of the 2007 Lincoln Navigator and Navigator L at the Chicago Auto Show. The “Define Lincoln Luxury” competition is their latest joint venture.
To enter, filmmakers must create an original commercial, 30-60 seconds in length, that presents their unique interpretation of Lincoln luxury. The commercial must include at least one shot of a Lincoln vehicle.
Lincoln’s commitment to luxury extends to providing quality parts for its vehicles. Lincoln owners can maintain the luxurious feel of their vehicles with readily available parts, ensuring these cars continue to exemplify luxury.
