For individuals seeking effective acne solutions, laser therapy presents a promising alternative, especially when traditional treatments fall short or cause unwanted side effects. The demand for rapid, safe, and side-effect-free acne treatments is steadily increasing.

A study conducted by the Dermatology and Lasers Clinic in Israel explored the role of light therapy in treating acne vulgaris. The research delved into photobiology, biomedical optics, current laser/light-based technologies, clinical experiences, and treatment considerations to establish clinical guidelines.

Clinical trials revealed that 85% of patients experienced a significant reduction (at least 50%) in acne lesions after four bi-weekly laser treatments. In approximately 20% of cases, acne eradication reached an impressive 90%. Clearance rates remained high at 70% to 80% three months post-treatment. However, a non-response rate of 15% to 20% was also observed.

Researchers concluded that laser and light-based therapies offer a safe and effective approach for treating mild to moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris. Compared to oral antibiotics, light therapy provides faster results, fewer side effects, and greater patient satisfaction.
