Following the international success of Israeli singer Yael Naim, a wave of talented artists from Israel has emerged, captivating audiences worldwide. Among them is Din Din Aviv, a compelling vocalist and performer who has been making significant strides in the music scene.

Din Din Aviv, born Dina in Tel Aviv in 1974 and soon after renamed Din Din, released her debut album, ‘Sodotay (My Secrets),’ in 2006. The album quickly gained traction, with three singles reaching the top of the Israeli charts. Even before her solo debut, Din Din Aviv had garnered attention for her exceptional vocal abilities and collaborations with other artists. Both of Din Din’s parents were artists, her mother Aliza Aviv, a singer, and her father, a Jazz musician. Her career began in childhood when she recorded an album called “Alildin” with her parents.

Aviv’s journey to prominence included her service as a singer in the Israeli Air Force. Following her military service, she pursued studies in art, ballet, dance, singing, and piano, honing her artistic skills. Din Din gained wider recognition through collaborations with prominent artists, including Gaya. Her collaboration with Gaya, a leading Israeli band, on their hit “Shir La’Ahava (Yahad),” which received the Discovery of the Year Award and became an unofficial anthem for many Israelis, further boosted her visibility.

Later, Din Din Aviv joined the Idan Raichel Project, a collaboration that proved pivotal in her career. Her collaboration on the No. 1 hit “Im Telech” (If You Leave) with Idan Raichel earned her widespread acclaim. Her voice and the song were recognized as the “Song of the Year” by IDF Radio and Radio 3, solidifying her position as a rising star.

Din Din Aviv describes her album ‘Sodotay’ as a reflection of her personal and artistic journey. The album showcases her musical diversity, with each song representing a facet of her identity. ‘Sodotay’ received the “Discovery of the Year” award from ACUM (The Composers, Authors and Publishers Society of Israel) in the spring of 2006 and achieved Gold Album status in April 2007. The title track, “Sodotay,” was also honored as the Song of the Year in March 2007. With concerts in America, Din Din Aviv is poised to become an international star, following in the footsteps of Yael Naim.
