Millions prefer contact lenses for their numerous advantages over traditional eyeglasses. If you’re considering switching from glasses and ordering contact lenses online, you’re making a smart choice. Online retailers typically offer a wider selection and more competitive prices.
However, ordering contacts online requires careful consideration. Here’s a guide to ensure a safe and successful purchase:
1. **Ensure Your Prescription is Up-to-Date:**
Using an outdated prescription can be as detrimental as not wearing corrective lenses at all. A legitimate retailer, online or brick-and-mortar, will always verify your current prescription. Prescriptions generally expire after one year, as indicated by your eye doctor during your exam.
2. **Compare Lenses and Prices Wisely:**
Compare prices across various online retailers, ensuring you’re comparing the same lens type. Options range from hard to soft, colored to corrective. Match brands and lens types precisely. Search for online coupons to potentially lower the cost.
3. **Double-Check Your Order Information:**
As with any online purchase, meticulously review your order before submission. Confirm the accuracy of pricing, including shipping, taxes, and any other fees. Crucially, verify that your prescription details are entered correctly to avoid receiving the wrong lenses.
4. **Maintain Regular Eye Exams:**
Even after a successful online order, continue with routine eye exams. These exams monitor changes in your vision, allowing your doctor to adjust your prescription as needed and detect any potential eye infections early.
5. **Choose Reputable Online Retailers:**
Legitimate retailers offer genuine discounts and promotions. Prioritize value over the absolute lowest price. If a retailer accepts your order without requiring a prescription, seek a more professional distributor that prioritizes your eye health and well-being.
Ordering contact lenses online offers unparalleled convenience and affordability. By adhering to these guidelines, you can enjoy the benefits of prescription contacts with confidence and safety.
