Taking breaks is crucial for boosting productivity and income. Last year, a Thanksgiving trip to southern California offered an unexpected business breakthrough. Initially planning to work during the vacation, the lack of convenient internet access in the hotel turned out to be a blessing in disguise. For five consecutive days, disconnection from computers and online access led to a significant realization.
Prior to the trip, I struggled to restructure my business and consolidate operations. Frustration mounted from relentless efforts without any progress. It’s a common trap to continue pushing forward when stuck or overwhelmed, leading to resentment and decreased productivity. However, during the vacation, a clear solution emerged: to increase income, it’s essential to work less.
Stepping away from the daily grind and gaining distance from my business allowed for the clarity needed to move forward. Resisting the urge to spend the vacation catching up on tasks proved beneficial. The time away provided the necessary perspective to develop ideas for business growth and expansion. Implementing this principle of working less can lead to increased income and improved productivity.
