Avery Dennison has developed Fasson R5000, a general-purpose removable adhesive designed to perform exceptionally well across diverse label face materials. Removability in self-adhesive labels often presents challenges like low adhesion, conversion difficulties, pre-dispensing issues, and even staining. Fasson R5000 overcomes these hurdles. This emulsion acrylic adhesive formulation ensures clean die-cutting and high-speed reel-to-reel conversion, reaching speeds of up to 140 per minute with standard printing processes, according to Avery Dennison Fasson Roll Europe.
Matrix stripping, even with heat application, is efficient, minimizing machine downtime and waste. Adhesive bleed is significantly reduced, and its UV resistance surpasses other acrylic emulsion removables.
Fasson R5000 provides reliable removability for up to one year without causing unsightly stains on the label face material when applied to various common substrates in packaging lines, warehouses, or factories. Its handling characteristics remain consistent whether applied automatically or through print-and-apply systems.
The adhesive adheres strongly to various materials, including paper, cardboard, glass, plastic packaging films, HDPE, stainless steel, and polycarbonates. Its strong initial tack and adhesion make it suitable for applications such as glassware, shoes, household goods, laboratory labels, product tracking, box end labels, temporary pallet labeling, retail special offers, and office labels.
Fasson R5000 has also secured BgWW approval for indirect food contact, enabling its use in prepacked food labeling (direct contact with label edges is permitted). Fasson R5000 enhances Avery Dennison’s existing range of specialty removable adhesives, including Fasson R100, Fasson R800, and Fasson UR 400.
