Avery Dennison has developed Fasson R5000, a general-purpose removable adhesive designed for optimal performance across diverse label face materials. This innovative adhesive addresses common issues associated with removable labelstock, such as low adhesion, conversion difficulties, pre-dispensing problems, and face staining.

Fasson R5000, an emulsion acrylic adhesive, ensures clean die-cutting and high-speed reel-to-reel conversion (up to 140 per minute) using standard printing processes, according to Avery Dennison Fasson Roll Europe. Its superior matrix stripping, even with heat, minimizes machine downtime and waste. The adhesive exhibits very low bleed and exceptional UV resistance compared to other acrylic emulsion removables.

Labels using Fasson R5000 offer up to one year of removability without causing unsightly staining on most common application substrates in packaging lines, warehouses, or factories. Handling characteristics remain consistent whether labels are applied automatically or via print-and-apply systems.

R5000 adheres effectively to various materials, including paper, cardboard, glass, plastic packaging films, HDPE, stainless steel, and polycarbonates. Its strong initial tack and adhesion make it suitable for diverse applications, such as labels for glassware, shoes, household goods, laboratory samples, product tracking, box-end labeling, temporary pallet labeling, retail ‘special offer’ labeling, and office use.

Fasson R5000 has also secured BgWW approval for indirect food contact (allowing direct contact with label edges), making it appropriate for pre-packaged foods. Fasson R5000 complements Avery Dennison’s existing range of specialty removable adhesives: Fasson R100, Fasson R800, and Fasson UR 400.
