Jollibee, more than just Yumburgers and Chickenjoy, represents a significant business opportunity in the Philippines. Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) extends beyond its namesake, holding a diverse portfolio of fast-food chains. In 2000, JFC acquired Chowking, bringing oriental-style fast food under its umbrella. Further diversifying, JFC added Greenwich Pizza and Red Ribbon Bakery to its holdings. Delifrance, the French cafe and bakery, also became part of JFC, showcasing a commitment to variety. Jollibee Philippines manages the corporation’s domestic operations.

JFC’s influence extends beyond the Philippines, with holdings in China and Taiwan. Yonghe King, a Chinese fast-food chain based in Shanghai, operates under JFC. Hongzhuangyuan, another Chinese restaurant chain with 33 locations in Beijing, was acquired in 2007 for US $50.5 million.

The scope of JFC’s acquisitions is impressive. The corporation’s success with the Filipino community allows it to offer a diverse range of food options, from pizza and oriental cuisine to coffee and baked goods.
