Recently, I had the opportunity to experience a luxurious cruise. It was a welcome break before an upcoming foot surgery. This trip reinforced a powerful lesson: believing in what you want can bring it to you, often in ways exceeding your expectations.
Around the same time, I also felt a strong desire to visit my mother in her assisted living home, knowing that my surgery would make travel difficult for a while. I voiced this desire, and miraculously, my return flight included a stop that allowed me to spend a couple of days with her. The timing felt perfect, a direct result of my belief.
Soon after, I underwent surgery. My primary concern was the potential disruption to my business during the 12-week recovery. However, I chose to view this period as an opportunity for creative growth. I was confident that I could maintain momentum. Awakening from surgery, my first thought was a renewed commitment to my goals. This conviction felt like a gift, fueling my determination.
During those initial weeks of recovery, despite the discomfort, I was constantly generating ideas. My laptop became an extension of myself, filled with plans and concepts. I also immersed myself in resources about belief and truth, gaining a deeper understanding of myself, my business, and my path forward.
This period of reflection led to a profound realization: belief is paramount. While I had always understood its importance, its significance now resonated on a deeper level, particularly for solo-entrepreneurs.
Consider the foundational elements of a successful business: belief, trust, passion, process, and marketing. Personally, I prioritize doing what I love, which is intrinsically linked to passion. Feel free to adapt these elements to fit your own unique foundation.
However, my key insight is that belief underpins everything. Imagine a triangle representing a business model. One side represents Business, the other Marketing, and the top is Trust. Within the triangle resides Passion, but Belief serves as the entire foundation.
