From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the art of photography. Exposing myself to diverse subjects, I’ve come to appreciate its ability to capture and preserve cherished moments and things. Photography, to me, acts as a protective shield for my most valued possessions. Fleeting memories and objects destined to fade with time are immortalized within photographs. This is the core reason for my deep affection for photography.
Alongside my passion for photography, I’ve cultivated a love for postcards. Similar to collecting photographs, postcards offer the added dimension of a written message and the experience of sending and receiving them through the mail. This has led me to embrace deltiology as an integral part of my life.
Deltiology, or postcard collecting, currently stands as the third-largest collectible hobby worldwide. I am thrilled to be a part of this community. It exposes me to diverse places and things, both familiar and undiscovered. Credit is due to the Franco-Germans, who pioneered the creation of the first historical postcards.
The modern era is largely defined by photochrome postcards, often referred to as ‘modern chromes,’ which began in 1939 and continue to this day. I’ve been inspired by this movement to incorporate my own photographs into customized postcards.
Customization offers creators a wide range of possibilities. The freedom to select images and captions allows for the creation of postcards that feel more personal and heartfelt than conventionally produced ones.
Given the unique nature of these customized postcards, they require specialized custom postcard printing. This ensures that the printing process aligns with the specific needs of your postcards. When choosing custom postcard printing, it’s crucial to partner with a reputable commercial printer to guarantee high-quality results and avoid potential issues.
Today, I no longer worry about losing my priceless possessions. I simply revel in them to the fullest, knowing they are safely preserved through photography and postcards.
