In the whirlwind of building a direct sales business, it’s easy to lose sight of life’s simple pleasures. I’ve experienced seasons where my work-life balance tilted precariously, prompting me to step back and regain perspective, not just on my business, but on life as a whole.
Recently, while running errands with my daughters in our small town, we took our usual route past the stunning horse farms that define our community. One farm, in particular, always captivates us with its rolling hills, vibrant green pastures, and pristine white fences. During springtime, the mares and their foals graze near the road, a sight that demands our attention.
It’s a moment I cherish, a reminder that life extends beyond spreadsheets and sales targets. There have been times when my mind races with business-related tasks, so much so that I barely register my children’s questions. But the sight of a colt frolicking alongside its mother instantly quiets the mental clutter, allowing me to appreciate the beauty around me and refocus on what truly matters.
My passion for direct sales stems from the belief in its potential to empower individuals. However, I often encounter driven people who neglect the vital moments of rest and reflection – the times when they should be “watching the horses.”
Ultimately, it’s about finding balance. It’s a familiar concept, but one easily forgotten in the pursuit of success. So, find your “horse farm” – that thing that grounds you and brings you joy – and savor those moments. But, of course, always keep an eye on the road ahead!
