In the whirlwind of building a direct sales business, it’s easy to lose sight of life’s simple pleasures. I’ve experienced periods where my work consumed me, demanding a step back to regain perspective and restore balance.

Recently, while running errands with my daughters, our route took us past a stunning horse farm. The sight of rolling hills, vibrant green pastures, and pristine white fences always captivates us. During springtime, mares and their foals graze near the road, a breathtaking scene that demands attention. It’s a moment that forces me to slow down, appreciate the beauty, and momentarily forget the pressures of business.

This seemingly simple experience holds a valuable lesson. It’s a reminder that life extends beyond the demands of direct sales. I can be so engrossed in my to-do list, so focused on the next call or task, that I miss the world around me. But the sight of a foal running alongside its mother instantly shifts my focus, allowing me to appreciate the present moment.

My passion for direct sales stems from the belief in its potential to empower individuals. However, I often encounter women (and men) who are so consumed by their business that they neglect moments of peace and reflection. It’s about finding equilibrium – carving out time to ‘watch the horses,’ to recharge and reconnect with what truly matters.

Ultimately, it’s about balance. Seek out your own ‘horse farm’ – that place or activity that brings you joy and allows you to momentarily escape the demands of your business. Just remember to keep an eye on the road ahead!
