The Chevrolet Aveo, a subcompact car marketed globally by General Motors under its Chevrolet brand, traces its origins to the Daewoo Kalos (produced from 2002, marketed as Aveo from 2004-2006) and the Daewoo Gentra (planned to be rebranded as the Chevrolet Aveo in 2007 after its 2005 debut).
The 2006 Chevrolet Aveo model was unveiled in Shanghai and later showcased at the Frankfurt Auto Show for its European debut. GM emphasized its “all-new” design, although it retained some components from the 2005 model, including the windshield, windows, and parts of the body structure. The Aveo also reflected Chevrolet’s updated styling.
Buyers could choose between a 1.2-liter or a 1.4-liter engine. Chevrolet also provided options for customizing the Aveo with various features and packages. Standard equipment typically included air conditioning, power windows, power locks, and power side mirrors.
The Chevrolet Aveo was known for its affordability. Despite its low price point, it offered capable performance and a comfortable passenger experience. Drivers often found the Aveo enjoyable to drive.
