I was late to embrace the blogosphere. After managing forums and websites for years, I cautiously started blogging on my aviation website. Initially, I struggled with the technical aspects of uploading content and almost gave up, thinking blogging wasn’t for me.
Fortunately, I persevered, seeing both a challenge and an opportunity. Having contributed to other blogs, I realized I could manage my own. I downloaded WordPress and now maintain two successful blogs on separate websites.
I’m thrilled with the success of each blog and plan to continue. I’m even considering launching more, recognizing the value of this medium.
How are my sites performing? According to my statistics, they are thriving. While comments aren’t abundant, the content is read, and the blogs significantly increase traffic to both sites. The traffic increases alone are enough to justify my efforts, but there are other advantages:
* **Concise Updates:** Blogs are perfect for short, informative blurbs that don’t require a full article. These allow linking to more detailed content for interested readers.
* **Link Building:** On my Jet Movements blog, I added over 200 aviation-related links. Within days, traffic increased, and my Google rankings improved.
* **Showcasing Expertise:** My second blog, The Article Writer, enhances customer communication. They can explore my writing style, SEO insights, book reviews, and more. The blog adds a personal touch to what was once a strictly business website.
* **Content Generation:** Blog posts can evolve into full-fledged articles. I often expand concise blog entries into longer pieces, saving time by building upon existing content.
Blogging is valuable for businesses and individuals. Despite some initial skepticism, blogging is clearly here to stay. Have you started your blog yet?
