I recently visited the small post office on the military base where I work. While waiting in line, I noticed a peculiar sign: “No bicycles allowed in the post office.” Intrigued, I asked the postal clerk about it.
He recounted an incident from the previous week. A man had ridden his bike up the ramp and into the post office. When asked to remove it, he argued that there was no sign prohibiting bicycles. After complaining, he begrudgingly took his bike outside, grumbling insults.
This anecdote illustrates a crucial principle in article marketing: common sense. Most article directories provide guidelines regarding article length, link rules, and acceptable HTML.
However, these guidelines cannot cover every possible scenario. Just because something isn’t explicitly prohibited doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. For example, even if not stated, avoid embedding videos or excessively bolding text within your article. Just because one directory allows something, doesn’t mean all will.
I provide general guidelines, and if an article is declined, I include an explanation. Please read and address the issues. Ignoring the rejection email and repeatedly violating the rules leads to account cancellation, and ultimately frustration. Follow the rules and use your common sense.
