The Dodge Caliber, initially a concept car showcased at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, was meticulously designed to fill a market void. Aimed at both the US and international markets, it doesn’t target a specific demographic. Trevor Creed of Chrysler Group highlighted the Caliber concept’s bold styling and innovative design, suggesting a future direction for Dodge in the global car market. The 2007 Dodge Caliber, released mid-year, effectively replaces the Dodge Neon, presenting itself as a versatile SUV-minivan crossover. It shares a platform with the upcoming Mitsubishi Lancer and features a gas engine from Mitsubishi-Chrysler collaborations. This five-door crossover also incorporates Chrysler’s first continuously variable transmission (CVT), engineered to enhance both performance and fuel efficiency. Furthermore, the Dodge Caliber includes an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system for optimized fuel efficiency, engaging the rear wheels only when necessary. Available in a range of colors, including Stone White, Marine Blue Pearl, Steel Blue Metallic, Sunburst Orange Pearl, Solar Yellow, Black, Bright Silver Metallic, and Inferno Red Crystal Pearl, the Dodge Caliber offers unique customization options.
