A leading company has introduced a high-speed print and apply solution tailored for variable information labeling, designed to significantly enhance operational efficiency. The ALX 720 excels in printing and applying crucial information such as pricing details, ‘ladder’ or ‘picket fence’ barcodes, stock numbers, batch codes, and general promotional labels, making it a versatile asset for various industries.

Capable of printing and applying up to 250 labels per minute, contingent on label size, the ALX 720 boasts a label stop accuracy of ±0.5mm. This precision is crucial for applications requiring exact placement and alignment.

The system leverages the latest thermal transfer, near-edge, 300dpi print head technology, ensuring high-resolution output across a selection of 17 fonts, including OCR/A and OCR/B, alongside two scalable fonts. It also supports the import of digitized drawings and logos, enabling incorporation into customized print designs for branding and visual communication purposes.

The ALX 720 can apply labels to the top, sides, and base of diverse cartons, containers, packages, and products. It achieves printing speeds of up to 300mm per second and labeling speeds reaching 30 meters per minute, providing a seamless and rapid labeling process.

According to the company, the ALX 720 overcomes the limitations of traditional 1:1 print and apply systems, where label application is constrained by print speed. The ALX 720 incorporates a label buffer between the print head and dispensing edge. This innovative design offers enhanced flexibility, enabling optimized speeds at both the printing and application stages.

The unit is equipped with automatic product speed following technology as a standard feature. This ensures consistently accurate labeling by continuously monitoring and automatically adjusting the labeling speed to match product presentation at the labeling edge. Print and dispense functions are easily managed through individual membrane keypads located on the front of the cabinet, with system status conveniently displayed on integrated LED screens.

The control system includes 1MB of dynamic RAM memory as standard, along with an RS 232 serial interface. This allows print data to be generated and managed from a connected PC, mini, or mainframe computer system, if desired. An optional RS 485 interface is also available, further expanding connectivity options.
