A cutting-edge, high-speed print and apply solution for variable information labeling has been launched, revolutionizing product identification and tracking.

The ALX 720 system excels in applying essential information such as pricing details, ladder and picket fence barcodes, stock identification numbers, batch codes, and various promotional labels onto diverse products and packaging.

Capable of printing and applying up to 250 labels per minute, contingent on label dimensions, the ALX 720 achieves exceptional label placement accuracy within ± 0.5mm. This precision ensures consistent and reliable labeling across the board.

Leveraging the latest thermal transfer, near-edge, 300dpi print head technology, the system delivers high-resolution output with a selection of 17 fonts, including OCR/A and OCR/B, alongside two scalable font options. The system also supports the integration of digitized drawings and company logos into label designs, offering unparalleled customization.

The ALX 720 can apply labels to the top, sides, and base of various cartons, containers, packages, and individual products. It prints at speeds reaching 300mm per second and applies labels at speeds of up to 30 meters per minute, optimizing throughput.

Unlike traditional 1:1 print and apply systems where label application is constrained by print speed, the ALX 720 incorporates a label buffer positioned between the print head and the dispensing edge. This innovative design provides enhanced flexibility, allowing for optimal speeds at both the printing and application phases. This separation of tasks leads to higher overall efficiency.

The unit comes standard with automatic product speed following technology. By continuously monitoring and automatically adjusting the labeling speed to match product presentation at the labeling edge, the system ensures accurate label placement. Individual membrane keypads located on the front of the cabinet control print and dispense functions, while system status is readily visible on integrated LED displays. These features make operation intuitive and user-friendly.

The control system is equipped with 1 MB of dynamic RAM memory as standard and includes an RS 232 serial interface. This enables print data to be generated and controlled from a linked PC, mini, or mainframe computer system, if desired. An optional RS 485 interface is also available for expanded connectivity.
