2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe: A Modern Take on an American Icon

The Dodge Viper, since its debut in 1992, has consistently evolved, overcoming various challenges. The 2006 model marks the third generation, introducing an all-new coupe variant.

According to Dan Knott, Director of Street and Racing Technology (SRT) for Chrysler Group, the demand for a Viper Coupe had been present since the 2003 Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible. He states that the 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe is a natural progression, catering to enthusiasts seeking the ultimate American sports car, delivering outrageous performance in a stunning new package.

The most noticeable update is the aerodynamic “double bubble” roof, designed to optimize airflow and increase interior space. Other new features include redesigned door glass, rear quarter panels, an integrated rear spoiler, and wraparound taillights. While reminiscent of the original Dodge Viper GTS coupe, this version boasts a more contemporary design. It also includes unique alloy wheels, measuring 18 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear.

Under the hood, the 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe houses an 8.3-liter all-aluminum ten-cylinder engine, producing 500 horsepower and 525 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Trevor Creed, Chrysler Group’s Senior Vice President for Design, emphasizes the importance of maintaining the emotional design, with a nod to the original Viper GTS coupe in a modern way. He adds that the Dodge Viper SRT10 coupe is designed to exude a racer’s spirit, even at a standstill, reflecting its unique character and high performance.

Reflecting Dodge’s tradition of delivering exceptional performance and value, various auto parts suppliers, such as Car Parts Rush, provide top-tier Dodge parts, offering a wide selection of new and used Dodge body parts, body kits, performance parts, and accessories.
